So I said I'd write about how awkward it is in situations when you have a friend, and then one day she brings her boyfriend along. And this is the first time you've met the guy and the 2nd time you've spoken to the girl. But you and the girl get along really well, so well it feels like you've known her your whole life. You were sisters. From the same mother. The same womb. Okay. Back to the not so weird stuff. And then you guys go for lunch together. And suddenly your friend (the girl) left something in class and had to go grab it. So she rushes off and you're left with her boyfriend. Now, things become awkward. You start to make small talk and then as things loosen up you get more comfortable. And then,*pause. "Wait, am I getting too comfortable with him? What if she comes back and sees us talking and gets the wrong idea? What if she thinks I'm some boyfriend-snatching whore whose main purpose is actually to steal her bf?" So, you become self-conscious and then slowly you stop answering long answers and your smiles turn a little more forced and you draw back a little and he notices. And then he starts to think like,"What if she thinks I'm flirting with her and that I am trying to get to know her? Oh no wonder she's showing all those facial contortions now." And so, both parties start to quieten and the awkwardness resumes until the friend comes back. Right? But nah no one ever does that to me, cause I mean who wants to be friends with me in the first place? No seriously, don't do that.. or do, who am I to tell you what to do!
have fun in school you guys!
