I've been reading quite a bit. (That's what you do when there's nothing else that can be done) (Sometimes when I shower I get so bored I start to read every ingredient in my shampoo) Books, novels, magazines, catalogs, pamphlets, your mind...And I realize that some books possess a certain aura such that when you start reading, voluntary isolation is activated. Well maybe it is only I. I like to be alone when I'm reading. Movement breaks my immersion (yeah roll those eyes). But when I get to the peak of the murder, I'd rather go through it solo than have someone barging into my room sweeping the floor. I think it is cause when I read, all my guards are down, so for someone to be there while that happens makes me a tad too vulnerable.
Imma turn my mind over for loose change now.
Cheers.

I get it too when I read! If the story is so captivating I can't stand it if someone just walks into my room to collect the clothes for ironing. But i don't really understand why.
I guess your interpretation makes sense. Maybe my imagination is opening up and bringing me into the story itself and someone coming in stops me from suspending belief. And coz it takes a while to get back in the moment, the interruption causes distress!
Really? So I'm not alone in this! Yes you see,I believe when we read we exude an aura with a radius of 2 metres around us. So when anything disrupts our cosmic connection, we are broken. And the relationship is not the same anymore.
...
..yeah. O well!
I'm not sure if you're poking fun at me or genuinely secretly as geeky as me, but i'd rather risk being a fool than not speak my mind:
That sounds so cool!!! Haha. I think the radius might be even bigger than that. (Depends on room size maybe, but since yours is the bathroom 2m sounds reasonable...)
It reminds me a little of dreams. You feel like you're actually there seeing/smelling/touching the place you're dreaming of, but once you're distracted (or woken) you can never really return to the same place. Reading is like dreaming, it's a trance like state!
Goodness I'm so geeky.
